Protest at Laniakea

The “Respect and Protect” event organized by Native Hawaiian activists on August 8, 2021 included closing off the cove and sharing the Hōʻihi Pledge with visitors.

The turtle cove was closed off for the day

A simple solution!

The Hawaiian activists spent the day picking up trash, planting trees, educating tourists and helping pedestrians cross the dangerous highway.

THANK YOU!

“Even the recommended distance of 10 ft. from turtles is too close. Give them space to eat and rest.”
